Oat Bran

Posted on

I bought a big bag of organic oat bran at the store for $2.49. I thought this was a great price and was excited to use it! I didn’t have time to make banana nut bran muffins, so I came up with two ideas: use it in your french toast and use it in your smoothie!

I dredged the french toast in an egg and milk mixture and then dipped it on both sides in oat bran.

Next, I threw in the mix 1/4 c of oat bran into my smoothie.

Two simple ideas for using oat bran if you don’t have time to make muffins!

Wedding Shower Ideas

Posted on

I didn’t elaborate much about our wedding shower because all my pictures were taken on my Canon old school camera. I got the pictures developed and wanted to show you some highlights of the day…

I love the die-cuts. Great idea girls!

Monogrammed cupcakes. ADORABLE.

Underwear skit. Quite comical.

The Wishing Tree. Very sweet and sentimental.

Dear Bridesmaids,

This truly touched my heart and the hearts of all who attended. Girls, you were so thoughtful as to donate in lieu of favors, to the American Cancer Society. Cancer is now a big part of my family as my Aunt Cheryl fights day by day with stage 4 lung cancer. To all the bridesmaids, this gift and donation has impacted me in more ways than one. I was just outside running a few days ago and began crying as I thought of this extraordinary gift. Words cannot express how much that meant to me. Thank you all again. XOXO.

All my love,

Lesley

DIY..make it happen.

Remember when I said I was going to do something with this window we bought at a yard sale for $2!? Oh yeah, and it never happened! Well today, I made it happen.

This is what the windows looked like before.  I have two windows and the one pictured above is the first one done. The decorations for both windows cost less than 15 bucks and didn’t take long at all to do!

Here’s what you need:

  • Ribbon ($3.99)
  • Mini clothes pins ($2.99)
  • Scrap book paper ($1.00)
  • Pictures (already had)
  • Hot glue gun (already had)

I hot glued sturdy ribbon from the left side to the right side of the window frame. I also hot glued the scrap booking paper to the back of the window frame. That is going to be the framework for a larger picture we put up top. Unsure as to what it will be just yet, but take a guess….maybe a darling pic of ATHENA!

PS- my mom walks into the house and looks at it – first thing she says, “The top scrap-book paper is crooked.” Yes mom, I already KNOW that! Woops, it was just a little mistake.
